How to watch: Pick up a Disney+ deal

Disney Plus Day is now here, and that's a great thing. That's because Disney Plus is the world's best streaming service according to our Disney Plus review, and Disney+ Day is an event that's going to make it even better.

Today, on Disney Plus Day the streaming service is being flooded with new exclusive content, including movies, TV shows and documentaries from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, The Simpsons and National Geographic among others.

For example, on Disney Plus Day, which is taking place today on 12 November 2021, Disney+ subscribers can now watch the recent awesome summer blockbuster Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings for the first time.

Right here we run through everything happening on Disney Plus Day, with a specific focus on what new content is available and the awesome $1.99/£1.99 deal that is now available on a subscription.

Disney Plus Day deal

To celebrate Disney Plus Day there is a special subscription offer available, which runs from 2:01am PST / 3.00am EST / 8am GMT on Monday, November 8th to 23:59pm PST on Sunday, November 14th.

This deal bags you a month of Disney+ for only $1.99 / £1.99 (that's $0.06 per day!), which is a 75% saving on the usual monthly price. After the first month at this promo price the sub then reverts to the standard Disney+ price, which is $7.99 / £7.99 per month.

What T3 suggests, therefore, is that anyone who takes up the $1.99 offer enjoys the full suite of content on Disney+ for the first month (including everything launched on Disney+ Day) and then either cancel your plan (which is easy) or then buy a whole year of Disney+, rather than paying the monthly fee.

This is because the best value Disney+ plan isn't the monthly one, it is the annual one. After one month of using Disney+ you should have a great idea if it is a good fit for you, though, making the bin or keep decision easy.

Want more information on this offer? Then check out T3's detailed write up of it: Magical Disney Plus Day deal grants a month's access for just $1.99 / £1.99

In addition, Disney has confirmed that anyone with a valid ticket or pass and theme park reservation on November 12, 2021, will enjoy special benefits across Disney theme parks.

And, wait, there's more. Disney has also confirmed that Disney+ subscribers can enter Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort 30 minutes early before the parks officially open, and that they will also enjoy complimentary Disney PhotoPass photo download(s) taken at select locations.

Disney has also partnered up with collectibles maker Funko to offer 10 per cent off Disney+ products from November 12 through to November 14. If customers use the promo code DISNEYPLUSDAY at checkout they will get 10 per cent cut off their order.

Disney Plus Day wish list

Here at T3 there are a few things we're hoping to see on Disney+ Day that so far have not been confirmed.

The first among these is a discount to Disney+. Right now Disney+ retails for $79.99 in the USA and £79.90 in the UK, which while still value for money for sure, doesn't come anywhere near the price the service launched at.

Rewind the clock to the Disney+ launch and you could pick up a subscription for $49.99/£49.99 and, while we don't expect prices to revert to that level, it would be good to see a Disney+ Day discount that brings a yearly membership down to $69.99/£69.99 or, ideally, $59.99/£59.99.

Disney+ has fulfilled this wish in part. For a limited period there is a $1.99 / £1.99 offer now in place to celebrate Disney+ Day, which bags you full access for an entire month. After that the price reverts to the usual monthly price. This is a great way to entice new customers to Disney+.

A loyalty discount to existing customers would also be nice, so let's see what happens.

The other thing we'd like to see on Disney+ Day is a series of trailers or teasers for much anticipated new exclusive shows such as the Obi-Wan Kenobi TV series. This would really help build enthusiasm for the streaming service over the next year as its rivals like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video double down on content like The Witcher Season 2 and The Boys Season 3.
