T3 Verdict

Gram for gram, goose down is one of the most effective natural temperature regulators – and that’s what makes the Scooms Body Temperature Regulating Luxury Duvet so amazing for a good night’s sleep. It’s ideal for anyone who likes to feel toasty when drifting off but has a tendency to overheat during the night, then kick the covers off and wake up cold. The fill is hotel-quality plush, yet the duvet drapes beautifully without bulk or heaviness. It’s undeniably an investment, but with a 60-night trial, there’s room to decide whether it earns its place on your bed. Chances are, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Imagine drifting off under clouds of Hungarian goose down – that’s exactly what sleeping under the Scooms Body Temperature Regulating Luxury Duvet feels like. As someone who tends to run cold, I’ve tested more duvets than I can count, and this one immediately stood out. It feels like a light hug: cosy and warm, with just the right amount of weight, without ever feeling heavy or suffocating. The duvet drapes perfectly over your body, blocking any cold drafts, but never feeling bulky or restrictive.

I tested the all-season 13.5 tog combination, which pairs a 4.5 tog duvet with a 9 tog layer. On freezing nights in my draughty Victorian house, it kept me consistently warm and comfortable. On milder evenings, I switched to the 9 tog layer alone and still stayed cosy without overheating. It’s a rare find and genuinely practical for couples who sleep at different temperatures, or anyone who wants one duvet for every season.

Scooms Body Temperature Regulating Luxury Duvet review: Pricing and availability

The Scooms Body Temperature Regulating Luxury Duvet is a premium duvet, with prices starting at £240 / $322 / €277 / AU$480 for the 2.5 tog. Prices rise to £400 / $537 / €461 / AU$800 for a double 13.5 tog combination, and £520 / $698 / €600 / AU$1,040 for a king which is the size I tested.

Considering the ethical sourcing, durability, and all-season flexibility, it’s a worthwhile investment if you’re serious about your sleep. It's available to buy at Scooms.

Scooms Body Temperature Regulating Luxury Duvet review: Design

The Scooms all-season duvet has a 13.5 tog rating and comes in five sizes: Single single (135 x 200cm), Double (200 x 200cm), King (225 x 220cm), Super King (240 x 220cm) and Emperor. You can also buy the duvets separately so a 9 tog for autumn, 4.5 tog for summer, and an ultra-light 2.5 tog, plus alternative all-season combinations, including 11.5 tog (2.5 + 9) and 7 tog (2.5 + 4.5).

The cover is made from 100% super-soft sateen cotton and filled with 90% temperature-regulating Hungarian goose down and 10% white Hungarian goose feather, making it naturally breathable. Design-wise, it’s clean, minimal and all white, with robust, even stitching throughout. Along the edge, there’s understated grey piping, plus discreet ‘feet’ labels so you always know which way round the duvet goes. A handy feature for anyone who gets in a bother when changing the sheets.

The fabric feels buttery soft with none of the crunch or rustling you sometimes get with feather-filled duvets. I’ve also been wary of down in the past due to lingering feather smells, but there was absolutely no odour here.

Despite its 13.5 tog rating, this duvet genuinely works all year round. The 4.5 tog and 9 tog layers are joined with cufflink-style fasteners, making it easy to adapt to all seasons. I used both layers through winter, then quickly detached them and slept under the 4.5 tog alone once temperatures rose, storing the thicker layer neatly in the bag it arrived in.

Scooms Body Temperature Regulating Luxury Duvet review: Comfort and materials

As mentioned above, the Scooms duvet is filled with Hungarian goose down and small white goose feathers, the latter adding just a hint of weight to keep the duvet in place. I loved how the down felt airy and elevated, even in the lighter 4.5 tog layer, with no clumping or flat spots.

Every duvet is handmade in Hungary using renewable energy, and the ethically sourced down is traceable to a single location, certified by the Responsible Down Standard. The down is washed in thermal spring water, which preserves its natural insulating properties and the 100% super-soft sateen cotton cover is a dream. It’s rustle-free, smooth, and soft against the skin, with a 300 thread-count dust-mite-proof weave, which kept any prickly feathers poking through.

Even during sub-zero nights, the duvet stayed plump, airy and warm, keeping my bed perfectly cosy without ever feeling suffocating. Honestly, it felt like the duvet knew exactly how I like to sleep, draping over my body perfectly and never getting caught up. It's Nomite-certified too, meaning that the duvet is suitable for house dust mite allergy sufferers. The only slight frustration is the connector buttons, which can sometimes pop off when you’re making the bed.

Scooms Body Temperature Regulating Luxury Duvet review: Temperature regulation

One of the standout things about the Scooms duvet is how breathable it is. Hungarian goose down and feathers are naturally insulating yet allow airflow, which means I didn’t overheat during warmer nights.

Thanks to the small fill pockets and high fill power of 700, the duvet holds a lot of warmth for its weight. I could feel the difference immediately – warmth where I wanted it, and air circulation where I needed it. On nights when the outside temperature was well below freezing, I stayed snug and cosy, but never sweaty or over-wrapped. It’s the kind of duvet that feels luxurious and alive, rather than a suffocating, oppressive weight on top of you.

Scooms Body Temperature Regulating Luxury Duvet review: Practicality

Scooms makes this duvet easy to live with. It’s machine washable at 40°C, recommended every six – 12 months using a small amount of non-bio detergent. The all-seasons system means you can choose the tog you need depending on the time of year, and it comes with a reassuring 10-year guarantee.

Delivery was smooth - the duvet arrived in plastic-free cardboard packaging and includes a white canvas-style storage bag for when you’re not using the extra layer. The only slight frustration is the connector buttons, which can sometimes pop off when you’re making the bed. However, you do get spares, and Scooms has recently upgraded to a stronger, single-piece fastener – which they sent me – and it’s made a huge difference.

Scooms Body Temperature Regulating Luxury Duvet review: Verdict

Paired with the mattress topper, the Scooms Body Temperature Regulating Luxury Duvet oozes quality, and the long guarantee gives real peace of mind.

No night sweating, no feathers poking through, no uneven patches – just consistent, fluffy comfort after a quick shake each morning (as Scooms recommends). I genuinely love it.

As a light sleeper, I’ve never slept so well or looked forward to getting into bed. It loyally stays in place all night, keeps its loft, and feels like sleeping under clouds – warm ones! It’s a sublime sleep upgrade that I would thoroughly recommend.
