News@8pm: Nexus S officially launches and new PlayStation Phone video

After months of speculation the Nexus S, the sequel to the Google Nexus One is unleashed. Set to be the first smartphone to carry the new Android 2.3 Gingbread OS, you can get all the Nexus S specs and pictures here. The Android smartphone news does not end there, with new PlayStation Phone videos emerging ahead of an expected December 9th launch. While Android lovers can rejoice in the prospect of two brand new handsets, Apple fanbois desperately waiting for the white iPhone 4 will have to wait until Spring 2011 according to store signage which spotted in the US. By that time the iPhone 5 will be prepping for launch we imagine.  In more positive Apple news, the Mac App Store is tipped to open on December 13th with details expected to be revealed at an event this week. Will the Mac App Store benefit the consumer though? Well you can let us know by casting your vote in this week's T3 poll.

“We want an iPad for Christmas”. Well that’s according to our T3 readers, who have put the Apple tablet at the top of their wish list. For those of you not hoping an iPad is nestling under the tree, you may want to take a look at the BlackBerry PlayBook, seen as a genuine Apple tablet rival which has been caught on camera showing off new gesture features.

Call of Duty: Black Ops has knocked Gran Turismo 5 off the top of the UK charts, both of which you can win in our Christmas gaming giveaway incidentally. In a brief break from the Microsoft Kinect hacks which grow by the day, Microsoft says they are not controlling Kinect shortages ahead of the festive rush. You can see what the General Manager of Xbox in UK and Ireland says about the so-called dirty sales tactic here.
