Welcome to your nightly round-up of the day's news and goings on courtesy of T3.com.

The Amazon Android App store looks set to open soon as Amazon today sent out guidelines to prospective developers. The store has been designed to be in direct contest with the existing Android Market and will provide apps for smartphones and other Android devices. Could this mean that an Android-run Kindle tablet could be in the works? Watch this space!

Reports have leaked about the Apple iPad 2 and apparently it has a 7-inch Retina display, at least one camera and a 128GB capacity. But with the good news comes the bad as Apple are also facing concerns that the iPhone 4’s glass casing is too delicate and is caused to crack by the bumper cases. Reports have uncovered recurring cases of dust and dirt getting trapped inside the case, scratching the glass and eventually causing it to crack with the pressure. Seen as though this is caused by the cases Apple provided customers to help solve the infamous signal problems, something tells us this isn’t going to go down too well.

The eagerly awaited Nintendo 3DS will suffer from a short battery life reports are saying. The 3DS isn’t due to hit stores till 2011 but has already become a hot topic as it is thought to be revolutionising the gaming world. Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s front man, declared that “It is inevitable that Nintendo 3DS will be a device which requires more frequent recharging than Nintendo DS.” We’ll just have to wait and see how much more. Nintendo have several new releases for the upcoming months, like the Wii Remote Plus. The new controller, set for release in Japan in November, has in-built Motion Plus, unlike existing remotes, which need an attachment to perform to a better standard.

The first download content for PES 2011 will be available from October 12th. The update will have up-to-date squads and adds all the teams who have qualified for the UEFA Champions League. Read T3's review of PES 2011 here. And in other gaming news Duke Nukem Forever is believed to be taunting the censors by showing a trailer full of sex, swearing and violence. The trailer might have made Gearbox Software fall out with censors but it’s probably greatly increased its popularity with teenage boys all over the world.
