It's been another busy day for the tech world - here's the best of the day's news in digestible format:

iPhone is a word you will have seen and heard more than a lot recently, mainly of course due to the latest incarnations catastrophic signal problems. But fear not help may be on the way: Apple has announced it will be holding a press conference tomorrow. While the subject of it hasn’t been announced, it’s unlikely it’ll be about anything other than iPhone 4. In a bid to lessen the blow, Apple has released iOS 4.1 to developers. The update contains a completely re-designed games centre. What is also noticeable is the reworked signal bar, and while it may not fix the hardware problem, it does give a much more accurate signal reading…if you can get the signal that is.

Gaming news now. Nintendo is not going to release a 3D Wii according to they’re very own Shigeru Miyamoto. The company may be releasing a 3D handheld, but they do not believe the technology would be suitable for a console at the moment. If you like your gaming a tad more hardcore then this will be just what the doctor ordered. Mad Catz has unveiled its new special edition controllers for Call of Duty: Black Ops. These hideously menacing peripherals will be sure to give any gamer the edge.

Tablet releases galore as American company Velocity has released a new tablet called the Cruz. The 7-inch device runs Android and although containing hardware that may not be as advanced as the iPad, its £195 price tag is sure to raise a few eyebrows. However if that’s not up your street, maybe these will be more suited to your tastes. Computing giant Acer has said they will release a tablet, with rumours suggesting it will come in two sizes, 7 and 10 inches, and be released before the end of the year.

Today’s computer news will surely cheer those who feel they need a bit more oomph from their desktop device Mac sales are reported to be up 24 percent in this second quarter of 2010. This will no doubt come as great news to Apple who, lets be honest, haven’t been having the best summer. If this isn’t for you then T3 has just reviewed Toshiba’s Satellite C650. Equipped with a solid 2.3 GHZ processor and a 500GB hard drive, it may not be the flashiest of laptops but it’s definitely a solid choice, check out T3’s verdict.
