LEGO Batman 2 makes its five weeks atop UK gaming charts

The Dark Knight Rises release helps LEGO Batman 2 make it five straight weeks at the top

Making it five straight weeks at the top, Warner Bros' LEGO Batman 2 release has capitalised off The Dark Knight rises release to top gaming charts

Benefiting from the global case of Bat-fever brought on by the cinema release of The Dark Knight Rises, Warner Bros’ LEGO Batman 2 gaming release has topped the UK All Format Gaming Chart for a fifth consecutive week.

With no high-profile new releases coming in the past seven days, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heros has rounded out the week ending July 21st atop the UK gaming chart as the impending British-based Olympic games sees Sega’s London 2012: The Official Video Game retain second spot.

As Ghost Recon: Future Soldier shuffles back up the charts to round out the week in third, Activision follows in fourth and fifth with The Amazing Spider-Man leading in the ageing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 release.

With the week’s highest new entry, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance entering sixth in the charts, Batman mania sees last year’s Batman: Arkham City shoot back to seventh ahead of Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games and Max Payne 3 in eighth and ninth spots respectively. Rounding out the week’s top ten is former chart topper The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
