App will bring the likes of Duke Nukem Forever and Homefront to the iPad.
Online gaming sensation OnLive will be heading to the iPad this autumn with the company confirming it will release an official application for Apple and Android tablets.
Last week we received confirmation that the popular streaming service will launch in the UK in October and that is likely to coincide with the launch of the OnLive Player app for iPad and various Android-infused tablets across the world.
On Tuesday at E3, OnLIve confirmed that release saying that the new app will "provide far higher performance, richer gameplay and deeper social integration than any console announced for 2012, with more than 100 games available today."
Games on both iPad and Android will be compatible with the new OnLive Wireless Controller, meaning there's no messing about with an awkward touchscreen control interface, which diminishes the enjoyment of many of the top games already rocking the app store.
Already in existence is the OnLive Viewer app for iPad, which currently only allows tablet owners to view the live action taking place online, but the OnLive Player is what gamers have really been waiting for.
OnLive currently allows gamers to stream a number of top-tier titles from the internet, to buy them outright, rent them, or pay a monthly subscription fee for unlimited use. Currently the service is compatible with most Macs and PCs or on your HDTV though the OnLive Games System set-top box.
