The GoPro Hero 12 Black embodies what makes the brand the premier action camera manufacturer. Among its features, the HDR video is probably the one that'll make most people happy, not to mention the ability to record vertical videos on the camera, allowing you to create attention-grabbing social media footage without post-processing in the Quik app.

The GoPro Hero 11 Black is, in many ways, the ultimate in incremental evolution. It's a better camera than the GoPro Hero 10 Black in several areas, especially with its brilliantly boosted colour palette and improved user options, but it's almost identical in most other ways you can measure.

GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini

Dispensing with a screen (to keep the dimensions and weight down), the miniature version of the GoPro Hero 11 Black is squarely angled towards adventurers and athletes looking to shoot cutting-edge POV vision without hulking much bulk around. The Hero 11 Black Mini is super versatile, thanks to its tiny size and dual mounting fingers, and it’s simple to operate, with one-button control.

The GoPro Hero 11 Black Mini is the ideal action camera option for anyone who wants to create a video while skiing, cycling, or in any scenario where rear and front displays are not required. The built-in battery is restrictive, but with exceptional video quality, it’s hard to argue with this streamlined sensation.

The GoPro HERO 10 Black is one of the most powerful, usable and feature-rich action cameras on the market from any brand. While it looks very similar to the HERO 9, this camera packs some significant internal upgrades, thanks to the new GP2 processor. Slick and speedy, The HERO 10 Black boots quicker and transfers files faster than ever. There's a significant bump in image quality, with frame rates doubled over the HERO 9 Black at higher resolutions.

GoPro Hero 9 Black

The GoPro HERO 9 Black has one significant, visible difference over the HERO 8 Black: it's the first in the range to include an integrated front-facing full-colour screen. It's not quite as speedy and slick as the HERO 10, but you're getting the same frameless design and 'bunny ears' mount as the cams on either side of it in the lineup, and a good rule of thumb is that it's slightly better in almost every way than the H8.

The GoPro Max is a versatile 360-degree action cam that replaces the GoPro Fusion. It was released shortly after the HERO 8 Black in October 2019 and boasted the same frameless mounting system. The Max is better than the Fusion in every respect and offers many of the most popular HERO features, including Hypersmooth stabilisation and TimeWarp time-lapse video capabilities. With this model, you can also flip between front and rear views using the Max’s touchscreen.
