Mac Pro and Mac Mini update incoming

Sources claim refresh due end of July, beginning of August

Top-end and entry-level desktop machines set for upgrade.

Apple looks set to refresh its top-notch Mac Pro and entry-level Mac Mini machines imminently. That’s according to Cnet’s Brian Tong, who last night took to Twitter to claim he had inside information on the updates.

Tong used the social networking site to say, “My sources tell me ALL NEW Next-Gen Mac Pros and Mac Minis will launch either end of July first week of August.”

What Tong means by “all new” remains unclear. Is Apple going to completely redesign the machines? Or simply load them up with improved specs? The latter seems more likely what with upgrades to both the Mac Mini and Mac Pro only released in June and September 2010 respectively.
