HOKA’s chunkiest running shoe just got a stealthy new look courtesy of legendary Japanese retailer BEAMS
The duo’s first collaboration arrives in two nature-inspired colourways
HOKA and legendary Japanese retailer BEAMS have joined forces for a new interpretation of the Bondi 7, marking the first official collaboration between the two brands.
The Bondi 7 BEAMS project reimagines HOKA’s maximalist running shoes through the quiet visual language of Japanese Zen gardens.
Two tonal camouflage patterns draw on moss, the shadows that fall across karesansui stone gardens, and the grain of timber found in ancient temples.
The shoe will launch in two colourways: a lighter pale stone with off-white tones (Turtledove/Tidal Foam) and a darker deep charcoal and black model (Chestnut/Black Bean).

The treatment extends across the mesh upper and the Bondi’s substantial midsole, creating an almost continuous camouflage surface.
HOKA and BEAMS branding has also been concealed within the patterns.
Contrasting insoles provide one of the clearest co-branded details.

Why should you care?
BEAMS has become one of Japan’s most influential cultural exports, with collaborations that routinely shape tastes at home before rippling through global fashion.
Despite the updated colourway, the Bondi 7 hasn't changed and offers a breathable open-mesh upper supported by TPU overlays, a memory-foam collar and a full-length compression-moulded EVA midsole.
HOKA’s MetaRocker geometry completes a platform known more for generous cushioning and an easy rolling transition than outright speed.
Raked gravel, hidden names
The collaboration arrives as the Bondi 7 enjoys an unexpected second life.
Although newer generations have followed it, HOKA revived the model as a lifestyle proposition.
The brand has done this before, with one of the most recent examples being the UNNA x HOKA Speedgoat 2.
BEAMS will give the shoe an early release at its Harajuku and BEAMS BOY Harajuku stores on 7 August.
A wider launch across participating BEAMS and BEAMS BOY locations, along with the retailer’s online shop, follows on 8 August.

HOKA will then release the collaboration globally through its website and selected retailers from 14 August, although a complete international stockist list has yet to be announced.
The Harajuku release will be accompanied by an evening event featuring a live performance from contemporary painter Ryoten Ogata.
The all-gender Bondi 7 BEAMS will launch through HOKA UK and HOKA EU on 14 August, priced at £155 / €175 (~$202 / AU$288). US and AU prices and availability TBC.
