Next-gen iPad finally set for launch after months of teases, leaks and gossip.
iPad launch event 2 March
The iPad 2 will finally take a bow on 2 March. That’s according to a string of reports in the US, with inside sources delivering the deets on when we can expect to see the next-generation slate for the first time.
All Things D, Reuters and The New York Times have all confirmed the date, saying the bash will be held, as ever, in San Francisco. Each outlet has a strong track record of getting Apple gossip spot on, thanks to well-placed insiders handing over tidbits of info.
The news comes after reports of an iPad 2 delay were quickly quashed by those close to the next-gen slate’s plans. It had been feared the new device wouldn’t make an appearance until June.
It should be noted that we have been here before. An event at the start of February was touted, but quickly forgotten. But with Android 3.0 rivals gathering a head of steam, now would be the perfect time for the iPad 2 to strike back.
