Tech fanatics crash Dixons site, as PC World and Currys look to start sale today.
HP TouchPad sells out at Dixons, sale continues today
The HP TouchPad has finally hit the headlines for the right reasons. The discontinued webOS slate last night sold out at Dixons, after HP slashed the price of a 16GB model to £89, with the 32GB version clocking in at £115.
The company behind Dixons, DSG, says it will have a limited supply of TouchPads on sale at its other gadget outlets, Currys and PC World, today. You’ll need to be quick though, as at these prices the TouchPad won’t be available for long. DSG’s Mark Webb took to Twitter last night to explain the company’s plans, “Apologies to those who missed out, incredible demand. Very limited stock available in some stores tomorrow.”
At the time of writing, Amazon was still selling the TouchPad for £382, although Twitter is alive with talk about a price cut coming to the world’s premier online retailer too.
