Halo and Xbox are both celebrating a centenary of life, with many arguing that one would not have survived without the other. Ever since the game first arrived as the flagship title for Xbox the two have had a relationship that has proven impossible to end.
Halo: Anniversary Edition out today
In other Master Chief related news Halo: Anniversary Edition is finally out, giving players the chance to replay the original Halo: Combat Evolved but with completely updated graphics and a whole host of feature updates that brings the game into the modern age. Retailing at £27.70 on Amazon Halo: Anniversary Edition offers gamers a chance to play an almost brand-new experience at a price that doesn't break the bank surely putting other big titles this week into perspective. With the ability to swtich between both the classic and the remastered version in real-time the game lets Halo fans and gamers see how far Halo has come graphically since it first wowed Xbox owners all those years ago.
Offering Kinect functionality the game also lets those who have the peripheral scan certain objects in the game's environments from weapons, to people to vehicles, all then accessible in the 'Game Library' which offers in-depth information on each of them. You also get voice-commands which lets you perform actions such as reload, change weapon and throw grenades.
Halo 4 coming to Xbox 360
The release information was confirmed by 343 Industries boss Frank Connor when he made his way on to forum NeoGAF to help clarify a discussion about whether the next Halo game would be making an appearance on Microsoft's next generation console which has recently been codenamed as Xbox Ten.
"Halo 4 will be on Xbox 360 and use a modified core of the Halo engine(s). Not really a singular engine since it goes through fairly radical evolutions all the time."
