Call of Duty: Black Ops special editions on the way

Activision ekes a few more pounds out of its hardcore fans

US site reveals Prestige and Hardened editions of new CoD

Activision looks set to reward its most dedicated Call of Duty fans with more than just the pleasure of tucking into the latest instalment of the cinematic FPS great, by offering Prestige and Hardened editions of Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Spotted as product listings on US site for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, the Black Ops Hardened edition is priced in at $79.99 (£50) and $149.99 (£95) for the Prestige edition.

Unfortunately, no details about what we can expect to see accompanying our fresh copy of Black Ops were available, but after packing a pair of night vision goggles with the Prestige edition of the record-breaking Modern Warfare 2 last year, Activision could be planning something equally outrageous.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is set to launch in the UK on all platforms on the 9th November 2010. So you've got plenty of time to make sure you are first in the queue. Well, near the front...
