Is your Apple device getting Siri AI soon? Here are the products that will support Apple's new assistant first

We’ve been waiting over two years for Apple’s new personalised, AI-powered Siri to arrive. The company first revealed it during WWDC 24, but following a number of delays, it never fully launched. Little was said about it at WWDC 25, but then at WWDC 26 this year, Apple showed off the new assistant in all its glory. It was better than many expected.

Rebranded as Siri AI, the new assistant will launch with iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS Golden Gate and watchOS 27 when they arrive – likely next month alongside the new iPhones.

However, not all devices compatible with the new software will support Siri AI.

What devices are compatible with Siri AI?

These are the models that will support Siri AI across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Vision Pro – at least at the start.

iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max
iPhone 16 and 16 Plus
iPhone 16e
iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max
iPad Pro (M1 chip and later)

iPad mini (A17 Pro)
All Mac models with Apple silicon (M1 chip and later, and A18 Pro chip)
All Vision Pro models
Apple Watch Series 9 and later
Apple Watch Ultra 2 and later
Apple Watch SE 3

Note that Apple Watch needs to be paired with an Apple Intelligence supported iPhone to run Siri AI.

Here’s where the complications come in, though.

For some Siri AI features, including the ability to change the pace and expressivity, you will need specific devices. According to Apple, that's the “iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPad models with M4 and later and at least 12GB of unified memory, Mac models with M3 and later and at least 12GB of unified memory, and Apple Vision Pro (M5)”.

So while Siri AI is almost here for older devices, it might be time to upgrade anyway.
