Samsung Galaxy S3 UK Release Date
Although many suspected the Samsung Galaxy S3 UK release date would be announced at MWC 2012 back in Feb, the device famously missed its highly-anticipated unveiling.
This lead to reports suggesting that Samsung intentionally moved the S3’s official unveiling to be closer to the handset’s in-store release date – a tactic adopted by the company’s biggest rival Apple.
Today, Samsung has officially unveiled the S3 UK release date as May 30, with a string of UK retailers – including Vodafone, o2 and T-Mobile – offering the device on both a pay monthly and pay-as-you-go basis.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 comes loaded with a 1.4GHx quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM, as well as an impressive 4.80-inch HD super AMOLED display and an 8-megapixel camera.
There is also a 1.9mp front-facing camera – an essential fixture for Skype addicts – that holds its very own 720p HD video.
Adding to its ever-growing list of specs, the S3 will also feature S Voice dictation (a Siri-esque voice command software) and customers will have the option of picking from a 16, 32 and 64GB model.
Users also the option of expanding storage with the use of a microSD card.
One the outside, the Galaxy S3 is 8.6mm thick and houses a 2100mAh battery (that’s a lot of juice, in case you’re wondering) and a digital compass.
But perhaps its best feature is Ice Cream Sandwich, the new mobile operating system by Android. We’re yet to test this out however, you can check out our Ice Cream Sandwich on Galaxy S2 video for a quick demo.
