The Samsung Galaxy S II handset as topped 5 million unit sales just 85 days after it first launched, the Korean tech manufacturer has revealed.
Having clocked up 3 million unit sales in its opening 55 days the Samsung Galaxy S II, which is to launch in the US next month, has reportedly seen a further two million handsets shifted in its third month.
Outselling Apple’s iPhone 4 in the UK the past two months to become the UK’s most popular smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S II was officially unveiled at Mobile World Congress back in February before undergoing a specs upgrade prior to launch.
Measuring in at just 8.49mm thick the Android 2.3 Gingerbread touting Samsung Galaxy S II plays host to a 1.2GHz dual-core processor as well as boasting an 8-megapixel camera with 1080p Full HD video recording capabilities and a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display.
