Nintendo 3DS games that need to launch now

Are these the 3DS titles to save the Nintendo portable?

Nintendo 3DS sales may not have been great so far, but we think these Nintendo 3DS games could help a few more of the 3D portable consoles fly off the shelves

In a week where Nintendo announced disappointing Nintendo 3DS sales and introduced a Nintendo 3DS price-cut, it's fair to say that the glasses-free 3D portable has not quite set the world alight.

It's early days though, and while most were disappointed by the Nintendo 3DS launch games, we are not ready to write it off just yet.

Looking at the top titles set to launch before the end of 2011 and into 2012, see below for the Nintendo 3DS games we think will save the Ninty portable.

Super Mario 3D Land

The name may have changed since it was first announced, but Ninty will be hoping that the Italian plumber will be the key to ramping up 3DS sales.

Due: Christmas 2011

Resident Evil Revelations

While Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D was a break from the norm, Revelations will take us back to the Resident Evil we know and love. We've played the brief demo and it looks like it will be worth the wait.

Due: 2012

Mario Kart 7

We loved it on the SNES, on the Wii and even when it came to the DS, so we'll probably love it in 3D as well when it lands on the 3DS, bringing SpotPass and StreetPass for multiplayer action.

Due: Christmas 2011

Luigi's Mansion 2

We got our first glimpse of Luigi's Mansion 2 at the Nintendo E3 2011 conference and the cheers that went up when Mario's brother turned up suggests this could is a 3DS game to get on your wishlist.

Due: 2012

Cave Story 3D

The 2D platformer gets a 3D makeover in the indie classic re-make which was originally supposed to arrive in August, but has now been pushed back to a November release.
