Over the past two weeks, we've seen the next-gen consoles make their debut, and both the PS5 and Xbox Series X sold out fast! But there's still hope for a Christmas miracle yet, with Sony promising that more consoles are on the way.
PS5 pre-orders were a debacle, prompting Sony to apologise to fans. While that was appreciated, things looked bleak for a minute when Sony boss Jim Ryan told fans that they could be left empty-handed on PS5 launch day.
Couple with the news that we could be looking at months of Xbox shortages spilling over into next year, the chances of nabbing a next-gen system if you hadn't pre-ordered were dwindling by the minute. But Jim Ryan is saving Christmas, with news that you can still buy a PS5, even if you missed out on launch day stock.

Talking to the BBC, Ryan promised more PS5 stock "before and after Christmas", adding that Sony has been "astonished" at the volume of pre-orders it received.
"We're making more PS5's in this difficult environment then we made PS4s in that launch. If people are unable to find one at launch, we're very sorry and apologetic about that.
"They can rest assured we're working really hard to get significant supplies into the market before and after Christmas.
"This is going to be a bigger launch [than the PS4]. And I think given the circumstances we're in, that's something that we can be quietly proud of."
It looks doubtful that Microsoft is going to be able to get more units from suppliers, but retailers may be holding back stock for Black Friday, with Best Buy's Black Friday ad suggesting it's getting a restock.
