Infinix GT 30 Pro: Pro-level control, zero learning curve
The GT Trigger levels things up

It isn't easy to make a huge splash in the world of gaming phones, but that's something the Infinix GT 30 Pro has managed since its debut this year. It succeeds in delivering a phone that's ideal for both casual and pro-level gamers, and has gone down really well so far.
What makes it so special, though? Well, while you can't overlook the all-day full FPS system that powers its performance, or the lush mechanical light waves design language, a huge part of it comes down to the new GT Trigger buttons.
Trigger buttons have become hugely popular additions to a wide range of top-end gaming phones in recent years, and you often have to opt for one of the most expensive options if you want these extras, which isn’t the case with Infinix. It’s pretty clear that people are opting for phones that feature triggers where they can, as demonstrated by a recent TrendHunters report, and it’s one of those additions that has no downsides. After all, even if you don’t want to use them, you lose nothing by having them there in case you ever need them.
All of the features mentioned so far have helped secure the Infinix GT 30 Pro a place as the official tournament phone for some huge games like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MLBB), and even the PUBG MOBILE Super League (PMSL).
If you want an overview of how impressed testers have been with these high-spec built-in shoulder buttons, just check out the video above, which features some huge names like UnboxTherapy and Wynnsanity giving their thoughts on how the GT Trigger upgrades the mobile gaming experience.
Those easy-to-reach shoulder buttons basically act as extensions of your fingers, making it easier than ever to control your in-game actions. It also means less time with your fingers obscuring parts of the screen, which all mobile gamers will know is a huge variable. You could do almost anything with them, too, from aiming to casting skills, toggling up your in-game map or jump-strafing. Just like with a pro controller on console, more buttons means more options for aspiring gamers.
Level up from the first touch
When we say aspiring, we mean anyone who wants to get better at a given game, and having more control is a huge boost in that journey. It's already obvious from the hands-on impressions in the video above that people find it super easy to use the GT Trigger to map new options to their control schemes, simplifying what they have to do with notoriously precise on-screen controls.
Take Mobile Legends: Bang Bang – you can use a single press of one of the capacitative triggers to activate resurrection armour instantly, quickly switch your map or cast a high-cooldown skill at a moment's notice. If you want to get better at the game, this is an instant boost to your chances.
Plus, you're not just tapping a screen without any feedback. The GT Trigger has tactile haptic feedback that makes your control feel even more natural, and really enhances the feeling of confidence that you get from mastering a game.
Precision-built for pros
If you're already confident in your abilities, though, the number of options unlocked by the GT Trigger can be staggering. If you're an FPS gamer, for instance, Wynnsanity has shown how the GT Trigger can fit perfectly into your claw grip with faster inputs.
You can use the triggers to make it way easier to simultaneously crouch, shoot and aim down sights, while pre-set commands make macro actions possible. This is huge for helping you to keep pace with other players in high-skill, high-stakes lobbies.
Wynn has also shown how the GT Trigger buttons can let you do actions without ever releasing your fingers from your screen, ensuring that you don't have to sacrifice one action for another – that means your movement stays unpredictable, and you have a genuine advantage. Normally, you'd need an external controller for that sort of benefit, but here it's built into the phone.
Crucially, the GT Trigger buttons are paired with some supreme touch sampling on the Infinix GT 30 Pro – up to 2160Hz, with a 240Hz touch reporting rate. These come together to ensure that your inputs are always reflected in-game as quickly as possible, and can be the difference between life and death in a competitive setting.
Plus, for those who like extra control options, the phone also has a six-axis gyroscope built in, along with an accelerometer, for high-quality motion controls. That could unlock motion aiming in shooters, or steering in driving games, among other options, and helps ensure that 3D spatial interaction is a very real possibility while gaming.
Shortcuts everywhere
Gaming might be the most obvious implementation for the GT Trigger buttons, but it's far from the only one. They're super useful for a whole heap of other shortcuts, too. Betosky showed how you can use the triggers as shortcuts to quickly take a photo, even holding one down to take a burst of shots.
If you're watching video across 10 leading apps, including YouTube, Netflix, Google TV, Vishaplayer, and MX Player, you can double-tap a trigger to pause your content, or hold one down to rewind or fast-forward, all of which is super handy.
Even just using your phone normally, you could map the triggers to system-level shortcuts to launch apps, tools like the flashlight or camera, and more. This basically means your phone can start to feel like it's superpowered, with control options that others simply cannot match.
All in all, this means the GT Trigger buttons aren't just a level-up tool for gaming (which they are) – they're also amazing for smoothing over everyday life. Whether you're going from amateur to pro in a huge mobile game or just taking more control of how your phone works, the Infinix GT 30 Pro has a totally new way to do it all.
