Samsung’s Ballie robot might not be dead after all, if this app UI leak is anything to go by

Is Samsung finally releasing its Ballie AI home companion robot? While Samsung has kept very quiet about Ballie, a leak was recently spotted that showed a potential app UI design for a Ballie app – here’s what we know so far.

As always, Samsung has had a big year. In July, Samsung held its Unpacked event where it launched the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, and throughout 2026, the brand has debuted new home appliances, including upgraded smart fridges and robot vacuums.

But one thing that Samsung has been pretty silent about is Ballie. Samsung originally announced Ballie back in 2020, dubbing it as an autonomous, spherical AI companion robot. Since then, Ballie has remained a concept, with Samsung announcing it had delayed Ballie yet again in late 2025, saying it was still working on the technology.

But visuals of Samsung Ballie software was recently spotted by Sammy Guru. While nothing has officially been confirmed or denied, many are speculating that the illustrations show what a Ballie app could look like, although an app name is still unknown.

The illustrations don’t directly state that the app would be for the Ballie robot. However, there are clear sketches of a spherical ball-like device which look a lot like the Ballie concept pictures that have been released over the years, and the ‘app’ refers to it as the Home Robot.

As the visuals show, a main dashboard has the Ballie or Home Robot at front and centre. Icons surround it, showing battery percentage, location, and status, including Ready or Error, and Streaming text sits just below the Ballie illustration. Further down the page is Home Monitor and Greeting cards and a main bar sits at the bottom showing Media and Robot.

These visuals have circulated but nothing has really been made clear about what anything of it means. Many have guessed that Streaming refers to users being able to view the Ballie onboard camera live and remotely, so it can potentially double as a security camera.

Others have speculated that the Greetings section could allow Ballie to detect people and offer personalised greetings when they get home. This has also been shown in Ballie promotion videos that Samsung previously produced when it first announced it.

In general, we don’t really know what the future looks like for Ballie. AI home robots are still new, with brands like LG and SwitchBot having announced their own full-sized models, although neither seem to have come into fruition just yet.

The Samsung Ballie could change this, and offer an easier, more compact way to use this type of technology, as it’s significantly smaller than other home robot concepts. But as always with Ballie, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
