SwitchBot’s ‘world’s first’ battery air circulator fan with Matter is a summer saviour

SwitchBot has just launched its new Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro in the US, and it claims to be the world’s first battery-powered air circulator fan with Matter over Wi-Fi. This new fan from SwitchBot offers powerful cooling at impressively quiet noise levels, and its connectivity means you can make it part of your smart home ecosystem.

Looking at the SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro, you wouldn’t expect it to have so much smarts up its sleeve – or blades. With similar looks to Meaco’s Sefte range, it’s a small, compact fan with a touch display and screen at its base. It’s easy to carry around your home with a handle at the back, and it even has an aroma cartridge to pump out relaxing scents while you cool down.

As a cordless fan, the SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro has a built-in rechargeable battery that offers up to 70 hours of cordless use. It can be used both indoors and outdoors, and the entire fan, including the blades, filter and front and rear covers can be taken apart for cleaning.

In terms of cooling, the SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro is powered by a DC brushless motor that circulates cool air around your home. It has multiple speeds to choose from and it oscillates at 90° both horizontally and vertically. The SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro also has a Turbo Mode for quick cooling, and it expels cool air by 110ft and up to 6.5m/s wind speed.

Despite all this power, the SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro is surprisingly quiet when in action. It uses SilenTech technology to reduce noise to 21dB when in sleep mode, so you can use it throughout the night without being disturbed. Its display also has a light bar which lowers its brightness at night, too.

The SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro can double as an air purifier, thanks to its pre-filter. Its filter catches dust, hair and other bacteria before they enter the fan, so you’re not spreading allergens around your home.

While the SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro comes with display and remote controls, the SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro is compatible with Matter over Wi-Fi, Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Home, Homey and more. This connectivity allows the SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro to work alongside your other smart devices by using your chosen smart platform.

The SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro can also be used via the SwitchBot app where you can adjust its speed, modes and schedules. It’s also available in black or white colours to suit your home aesthetic.

The SwitchBot Battery Circulator Fan 2 Pro is available to buy for $119.99 at SwitchBot. As of writing, UK and EU availability has yet to be announced. However, SwitchBot has launched the Standing Circulator Fan in the UK and US which has a similar design but it’s more portable and adjustable.
