Microsoft is readying its Xbox 360 system update preview again. And the Big M is after thousands of gamers to get involved and help it refine the software boost before it releases it to joe public.

Sadly, the preview is US only, but if you do live across the pond, you can sign up at the Major Nelson blog. Punters who are successful will get a free copy of Halo: reach, plus, “…other possible rewards.”

Xbox Live Gold users will be favoured, so if you’re not already stumping up for the online service, now seems like a good time to start. There’s no word on what the update will bring, but with previous versions adding the likes of Facebook, Twitter and Sky TV, beta testers could be in for a treat.
