The PPA crowns us International Magazine and Digital Product of the Year
T3 has won two gongs at the prestigious PPA Awards, scooping both Digital Product of the Year for T3: Tablet Edition and International Magazine of the Year.
We saw off competition from the likes of Digital Spy, ShortList and Runner's World for the Digital prize, the first time a tablet magazine has triumphed at the PPA Awards, considered by many as the Oscars of the publishing world.
For International Magazine we beat prestigious brands such as Time Out, Lonely Planet and Top Gear.
At the awards ceremony in the Grosvenor House Hotel on London's Park Lane on Wednesday, the PPA declared T3: Tablet Edition "a market leader that has repositioned the brand as right at the cutting-edge of the technology market".
When presenting us with International Magazine of the Year, it hailed our growth in 16 digital products, 25 international editions and a licensed edition in 45 countries as a "great commercial performance".
T3 was one of just four brands that picked up more than one award, the others being The Week, Stylist and TES. We were also shortlisted for a brand record six awards, which included Consumer Brand of the Year, Specialist Consumer Magazine of the Year, Editor of the Year for Luke Peters and Publisher of the Year for Nial Ferguson.
Nial Ferguson, publisher of T3, said, "These two awards are particularly special as they really celebrate areas that we are focusing on heavily. It's great for Luke and the T3 team to get recognised for their work."
Mark Wood, CEO of Future Publishing, said, "To win a PPA Award is an achievement for any publisher but to win two is a remarkable triumph. T3 has led the entire global publishing industry in terms of digital product development for the iPad and has become a showcase for Future's digital skills and innovative energy."
As luck would have it, the brand new issue of the PPA-winning T3: Tablet Edition is out now on iPad here, with the Android version following tomorrow here. Check it out to see what the judges were raving about.
