Motorola Xoom and Atrix struggling says analyst

Moto's new tablet and smartphone failing to do the business

Poor sales suggest Moto has a long way to go before catching iPad and iPhone.

The Motorola Xoom and Motorola Atrix are both killer pieces of next-gen Android kit. But that doesn’t appear to have helped them fly off the shelves, with one analyst claiming that sales of both devices are “disappointing”.

James Faucette, from analysts Pacific Crest, says that his own checks have shown that, “…sell through trends,” for both the Atrix and Xoom are sluggish. The Xoom went on sale in the US at the end of February and is due out here in Blighty this week.

Word is that the Atrix is struggling to match old-school phones like the iPhone 3GS, which can be bought at the same price across the pond. The Xoom’s failure to include Adobe Flash from the start, supposedly one of its key features, clearly hasn’t helped either.
