LG movie monitors a 10,000:1 shot
LG celebrates the dark side of cinema by launching their best Digital Fine Contrast ratio monitor yet.
With the web-to-tv revolution emerging from it's initial stuttering steps, LG drop a monitor aiming to give watching movies on the good old PC, a new lease of life.
With an impressive 10,000:1 ratio, it's the highest spec yet to utilise their Digital Fine Contrast (DFC) technology.
Details are still a little thin on the ground, but LG tell us: "The monitor offers greater depth when viewing movies, making darks darker and whites whiter. The higher ratio offers greater image clarity and colour shading not previously experienced on a computer screen."
So taking that somewhat tenuous 'darks darker' line and running like a scolded dog with it, they've quizzed the great British public on their favourite 'dark' movies.
Reigning supreme was Psycho and Alfred Hitchcock as the darkest movie and director, with Anthony Hopkins and Angelina Jolie scooping the gong for darkest actor and actress.
No room for American Psycho, Full Metal Jacket or A Clockwork Orange or The Shining, though? Actually there's no Kubrick flicks at all. Scandalous.
