Kinect comes to the UK this weekend

Microsoft takes Kinect on 'tour' so public can get hands-on

Want to see what all the hype is about, need the proof that your £120 is not in vain? Fear not.

Microsoft is taking the Kinect on tour around the UK, and guess what, it's starting this weekend.

In locations around Britain, including Alton Towers and Covent Garden, the public will be able to visit the 'Kinect Galleries' and get up close and personal with the latest piece of kit from Microsoft.

The plan is to give the public a sneak peek of the Kinect add-on, a motion-sensing device that allows you to interact with games on Xbox 360 through the movement of your body, without the need for a controller. Having already had a go ourselves, we can safely say, if you get the chance, you should definitely check it out. Even if what's on show isn't the final product, just interacting with the console through Kinect is a completely unique experience.

While the events will be moving from place to place, Microsoft will also be setting up shop in Covent Garden where they'll be based indefinitely starting on the 31st, open daily 10am-8pm.

Dates and locations confirmed so far are…

Alton Towers – 31st July– 31st August
London Zoo – 7th – 22nd August
The Thames Festival in London – 11th – 12th September
Chessington World of Adventures – 21st – 31st October
Clothes Show Live in Birmingham (NEC) – 2nd – 8th December
