Developer DICE has revealed its plans for the Battlefield 3 Beta trials as well as outing how users can register for the game’s Alpha testing phase.

With a Battlefield 3 UK release date set for October 28th DICE has announced that the Beta will go live in September following an Alpha stage of testing which eager gamers can now register their interest to be involved in.

Having announced “the Open Beta will start in September,” Dice went on to reveal that the Battlefield 3 Alpha Trial will be a “highly tech focused test period where the main purpose is to do a number of server related tests in preparation for game launch.”

Requiring a set amount of players online to ensure the final experience is as much fun and easy as possible, DICE added that although the Alpha Trial is a closed test by invitation only users can register to be considered for inclusion. The developer said: “If you'd like to have a chance to be called upon make sure to register for our newsletter and ensure your Veteran status is up to date.”

With an October 28th release date Battlefield 3 is to launch a little over a week before bitter rival Activision releases the latest addition of the COD franchise in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
