App sensation Angry Birds has totted up yet another impressive milestone with the franchise’s latest release, Angry Birds Rio, recording more than 10 million downloads in its opening 10 days.
The avian flinging mobile game was given a makeover late last month to tie-in with the upcoming movie release of Rio. Since then developer Rovio has revealed the most successful mobile application franchise of all time has seen the Rio release downloaded in excess of 10 million times.
Announcing the news via its official Twitter feed, the Finnish developer, Rovio Mobile, declared: “10 in 10:-) Angry Birds Rio breaking all records. A massive thanks to all our fans!!!!”
Originally made available exclusively on Apple’s iOS-running iPhone and iPad devices as well as a free Android download through the launch of the Amazon Appstore, Angry Birds Rio last week touched down on the Android Market bringing the Rio de Janeiro-based mobile fun to Google powered handsets free of charge.
