During the height of a UK heatwave, I was very kindly invited to the Summer of Indulge Garden Party with Russell Hobbs. To say I had a great time sitting outside, listening to music and snacking on charcuterie would be an understatement, but I also got to see Russell Hobbs’ new Indulge collection in action.
The new Indulge line-up from Russell Hobbs features its bestselling kitchen gadgets in its stylish stone colourway. The neutral shade works perfectly in any kitchen, and they’re packed full of handy features to make your daily life easier, as well as your summer hosting.
As mentioned, I got to see and try the new Indulge appliances for myself, and I was thoroughly impressed. Starting with coffee, I tried the Russell Hobbs Cafe Genie Espresso Machine, and was immediately caught by its design.
Coffee machines have gotten bulkier in size and stature, but Russell Hobbs Cafe Genie Espresso Machine is surprisingly petite, and sat proudly on the event’s coffee bar. It has a touch control panel sitting at the top of the machine where you can adjust your settings and click through popular drinks, like cappuccinos, lattes, flat whites and more.
The Russell Hobbs Cafe Genie Espresso Machine has a built-in milk system that automatically steams and froths milk when you pick a milk-based drink. But I was more interested in trying its espresso which I did in the form of a non-alcoholic espresso martini.
With its 20-bar pressure pump, the Russell Hobbs Cafe Genie Espresso Machine pulled coffee in little to no time, and it had a deep, rich flavour. Of course, a lot of this is to do with the quality of the coffee beans of which the machine is compatible with loose coffee grounds or Nespresso Original pods.
For £229.99, the Russell Hobbs Cafe Genie Espresso Machine isn’t too expensive either, compared to other coffee manufacturers. Having tried it, I’d say it’s good value for money, and it looks and feels like a high quality product that’ll definitely find its way into many kitchens.
The next appliance I tried was the JuiceLuxe Juicer. I’ve been wanting a juicer for a long time, and I think the JuiceLuxe Juicer might have won me over. It features a 62mm juicing tube at the top where you insert your fruit and vegetables, and it has a non-drop sprout to dispense your juice.
I can’t get enough of ginger at the moment, so I got a ginger, orange and carrot juice and was impressed by how fast the JuiceLuxe Juicer turned everything around with its 400W motor. It tackled hard carrots and oversized oranges with no problem, and I was surprised by how tidy it was, as normally juicers can get messy.
Last but certainly not least, I made my way over to the ice cream station to see the Chillluxe Ice Cream Maker in action. Sadly for me, I’m lactose intolerant so couldn’t try any of the ice cream but I did get to see the ice cream maker at work.
The first thing I noticed was how quiet it was when in operation. Of course, I was at an event with a lot of people and a DJ playing, but the Chillluxe wasn’t too loud. While you still need to pre-freeze your mixture the night before, the Chillluxe whizzes up ice cream, sorbet, gelato and more in a matter of minutes.
Again, I didn’t try the finished product, but I saw lots of happy people with creamy, almost soft serve-consistency ice cream, and it looked delicious! With so many ice cream makers on the market right now, it can be hard to pick the right one for you, but the Chillluxe from Russell Hobbs is a great budget choice at £159.99.
