Samsung Galaxy S FroYo update pushed back to October?

Facebook update suggest delay from Sammy

Sought after bump was supposed to be out on these shores tomorrow.

Samsung appears to have delayed upgrading its flagship Galaxy S blower to Android 2.2 FroYo. The mobile maker has taken to Facebook over in Spain, where it’s told punters to expect its arrival in late October.

That runs counter to recent chatter coming directly from Samsung here in the UK, which suggested we’d be seeing the performance boost as soon as 23 September.

The Galaxy S is just the latest in a line of Android phones to play the waiting game when it comes to the latest edition of Google’s operating system. The HTC Desire was the subject of rumour and counter rumour about just when it would be seeing FroYo.

Here’s hoping the delay is only affecting Spanish versions of the phone and that us Brits will be able to play nice with the update very soon indeed.
