My first DSLR...

Pentax has announced an addition to its camera range with the K-r, a DSLR with a reasonable features list for its comparatively competitive price point.

The 12.4-Megapixel cam stocks Pentax Real Image Engine (PRIME) II, Pentax’s Shake Reduction software, a 6fps high-speed mode and 720p HD recording. Round the back there’s a 3-inch LCD monitor and all the manual controls you’d expect form a DSLR.

As you can see from the pics, the Pentax K-r is available in a range of colours that’d generously be described as ‘jolly’, but nonetheless it’s got a retro-chic design. The whole package will be available from £599.99 when it goes on sale in October.
