Japanese automotive behemoth Nissan has taken a step away from its usual four-wheel affairs moving into the territory of protecting the public’s smartphones with the unveiling of the world’s first ‘self healing’ iPhone case.
Dubbed the Nissan Scratch Shield the superhero of the iPhone case world boasts self-healing abilities with surface scratches that would usually tarnish your high-end handset automatically mended by the case’s special paint coating.

One of the most innovative cases to be unveiled the Nissan Scratch Shield is finished with a special paint coating that according to the car manufacturer “is made from polyrotaxane, which means that when damage occurs to the coating in the form of a fine scratch, the chemical structure is able to react to change back to its original shape and fill the gap healing the blemish.”
A relatively quick fix, this witchcraft of the tech world will reportedly see most surface scratches righted within an hour whilst deeper gauges may take up to a week to fully heal.
Whilst Nissan has yet to reveal any official Nissan Scratch Shield release date or pricing information it has confirmed that it is currently working on the “initial batch of prototypes.”
