O2 is set to sell the BlackBerry Torch 9800 here in the UK, after an internal document was leaked online showing the network’s plans for RIM’s new super cell.
The shot shows O2 is planning on shipping the device on 4 October, not long after Vodafone starts selling the Torch too.
O2 has yet to officially confirm its plans, but it looks as if you want a BlackBerry Torch, you won’t have to lock yourself into Vodafone for two years. With sales of RIM’s first slider said to be sluggish across the pond, it’s no surprise that the BlackBerry maker wants to maximise its options.
For those at the back, the BlackBerry Torch 9800 is the first phone to pack RIM’s new OS6 software, as well as rocking a touchscreen and QWERTY panel.
