Lennon's widow suggests deal for Beatles downloads still a long way off

Yoko Ono has said a deal to bring The Beatles back catalogue to iTunes is still some way off, saying that while Apple has made her and the surviving members an offer, it’s not looking likely.

Speaking to Reuters, Ono said, “Don’t hold your breath,” when asked if the Fab Four’s tunes would be appearing on Apple’s digital download store.

She did say, however, that Steve Jobs had offered some kind of package. "Steve Jobs has his own idea and he's a brilliant guy. There's just an element that we're not very happy about, as people. We are holding out."

Almost a year after Beatles Rock Band showed up, it seems we’re no closer to getting the world’s biggest band’s tracks on iTunes.
