The One Show set to launch into High Definition on Beeb's simulcast channel
The BBC has firmed up a November 3rd launch date for its impending BBC One HD channel. It will run alongside the already popular BBC HD, simulcasting shows from BBC One, a proportion of which will receive a High Definition gloss of paint.
First on the bill is The One Show, which will launch the channel. Daniel Nagler, head of the Beeb’s HD goings on said that "It's incredibly exciting to begin the official count down to the launch of the new channel, and we're delighted to be launching with BBC One's popular flagship programme The One Show.”
Other shows set to up their pixel-count are Eastenders – which has had a full set refresh to cope with the upgrade – and Film 2010. Nagler adds that BBC One HD “will increase the range and choice of HD programming we can offer the ever growing HD audience,” showing that the Beeb’s fully committed to the burgeoning tech. No word on 3D, though…
