Quick Summary

Virgin TV customers can now access more than 60,000 new movies and TV shows, plus more than 40 new channels, thanks to a partnership with Tubi.

The free streaming service is now available on Virgin TV boxes, as well as the Virgin TV mobile app.

Virgin Media's TV customers just got a major treat, just in time for Christmas. All of its TV boxes can now access a free streaming service that adds more than 60,000 additional movies and shows to watch at no extra cost.

This is all thanks to the inclusion of Tubi on Virgin TV for the first time. The free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service offers a vast selection of programming, and it's now part of the experience on Virgin's boxes, such as the Virgin TV 360.

It's also now available through the Virgin TV app for iOS and Android.

"We are delighted to add Tubi to our offering, giving Virgin TV customers access to one of the world’s biggest offerings of world-famous movies, TV shows and documentaries at absolutely no extra cost," said Virgin Media O2's chief TV and entertainment officer, David Bouchier.

You should receive Tubi access automatically, but do check to see if there is an update available for your box if not.

What is Tubi?

Tubi already had a foothold in the US when it launched in the UK a year-and-a-half ago. It provides access to classic and archive TV shows and films that are ad-supported, so is a free service to use across multiple platforms.

There is also a range of Tubi Originals – exclusive shows, documentaries and movies only available on the service. And it provides access to more than 40 live TV channels, all streamed over the internet.

This includes a seasonal Christmas movies channel, as well as dedicated channels for Pointless and other UK-specific shows.

You can also check out Tubi for yourself through a dedicated app for Smart TVs, mobile and more, or on its dedicated website.
