Plaud teases new AI wearable, and this one might not need a phone for its AI smarts
Plaud could be looking beyond AI note taking for its next product release
Quick Summary
AI hardware company Plaud has teased a new product that will be released later this year.
The new wearable will connect to multiple AI agents and could even come with its own mobile data connection.
Plaud has been going great guns since the launch of its first AI product less than three years ago. It has introduced a Pro version of its note taking device, and added an upgraded NotePin S wearable to the lineup most recently.
However, its ambitions aren't to stop there, as T3 has heard another wearable is on its way this year, and it could be its first device to work independently of a mobile phone.
Its current devices, including the Plaud Note Pro and NotePin S, are able to record audio without needing a phone connection, but you do need to route AI requests through an iPhone or Android device. That includes transcribing conversations and meetings, and summarising them.
However, from what we've learned about the next Plaud device so far it could be the first with its own cellular connectivity – possibly through a built-in eSIM.
That's not confirmed as yet, but we understand that Plaud is looking into it.
We're more certain on a few other features. For starters, the new wearable will work with multiple AI agents, to be more of an assistant than just a note taker. It will also sport "at least" eight hours of battery life, with a possible 12 up its sleeve.
It will be "always on", so you can just talk to it and it'll respond. And it could learn from you as you use it more, to offer increased levels of personalisation.

We don't yet know what type of device the AI wearable will be – another pin, a smartwatch, a bracelet or necklace? But it'll have more use cases than the existing Plaud products, it seems.
Incidentally, if you are interested in what Plaud is currently up to, there's a pre-Prime Day sale on its own website right now. There's up to 20% off on bundles, including a couple of devices, or a device and an annual AI Unlimited plan.
And you can try what Plaud has to offer through its free desktop app, too.
