REI is selling Patagonia gear for 40% less right now – not for long though!

Everyone loves a bargain on Patagonia gear, including us. And we're in luck, as REI's current sale includes hundreds of discounted clothing options from the popular outdoor manufacturer, such as fleeces, shirts, hoodies, coats, and more!

Better still, other brands are also on sale, from top brands like Columbia, Merrell, Mountain Hardware, and so much more. A small caveat – there is always a catch! – is that the offers are on 'past-season styles', meaning it's not the latest and greatest gear that you can buy for cheaper.

The truth is, past season clothing from premium outdoor brands should be as good if not better this season as it was last year or the year before. Ideally, you want to wear this for years to come; Patagonia encourages people to fix their clothing if it gets damaged, further extending its lifespan.

With that in mind, we selected a few items we are particularly fond of, which we listed below.

The first stop is Patagonia's iconic 70L Black Hole Duffel (was $199, now $138.93). It's a newer version that features updated body fabric, lining fabric and webbing, all of which are made using recycled material. Black Hole duffels are famous for their indestructible nature – buy one now, and you won't have to buy another duffel in your life!

The Men's Microdini Half-Zip Pullover (was $129, now $76.93) caught our attention because of its classic retro Patagonia design. This fleece is perfect for casual wearing in the office, at home or on the trails. Using a combination of Micro D and Houdini fabrics, the Microdini Pullover will help stay warm in cold conditions.

Speaking of Houdini, the Patagonia Women's Houdini Jacket (was $109, now $64.93) is the ultimate packable shell layer for those who like moving around fast outdoors. Featuring a DWR finish and made from a featherweight ripstop nylon material that blocks wind, withstands abrasion, and packs down into the chest pocket, the Houdini is the ultimate trail running jacket.

Finally, we can't not talk about the fabulous Patagonia Women's R1 Pullover (was $139, now $96.93). We reviewed the men's fleece version recently (see also: Patagonia R1 Air Fleece Crew review) and couldn't get enough of it. Works perfectly as a base layer or a mid-layer. Just buy it, please.
