Montblanc has just announced its 2026 watch line-up, and its new Iced Sea watches are making me want to climb a glacier!

Montblanc’s 2026 novelties include three editions of the Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen, an 1859 Small Second 0 Oxygen and a 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen Mount Elbrouz. It’s also expanding its Star Legacy collection with four watches, including a Small Seconds, Moonphase, Chronograph and limited edition Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph.

It’s a lot of new watches to say the least, so I’ve picked out my favourites from the new Montblanc releases below.

Montblanc Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen

Starting with the Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen, Montblanc has introduced three new versions, two of which are limited editions. All inspired by the Mer de Glace, the ‘standard’ watch is available in black, while the red is limited to 300 pieces and the brown is limited to 700 pieces.

Starting with the black Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen, the watch has been reimagined with a 41mm stainless steel case with a black coating, giving it a distressed look. To achieve this distressing, the case and bracelet were washed and brushed with quartzite which was sourced from the Mont Blanc mountain.

The main difference between the three watches are the colours. The Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen in red is inspired by glaciers when the sun hits it, and has a bold coral colour on the bezel and dial and a smaller case at 38mm. The brown watch takes a more natural approach and takes colour and design inspiration from soil and fossils that are exposed as glaciers form and recess.

The dials of all three Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen have a sfumato glacier pattern, giving it the look and texture of scratched ice. The watches are complete with a unidirectional bezel, 3D engraved caseback and steel bracelets. Prices start at £3,910.

Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph

As Montblanc is best known for its glacier and mountain-inspired watches, I was surprised that the manufacturer was launching a watch with horse racing in mind – the limited edition Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph.

Priced at £8,000 and limited to 821 pieces, the Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph pays homage to French watchmaker, Nicolas Rieussec. In 1821, he invented the first inking chronograph to accurately time horse races.

As a celebration of Rieussec’s achievements, I think the Montblanc Star Legacy Nicolas Rieussec Chronograph captures them well. The dial shows a 19th century illustration of the Champ-de-Mars racing circuit and displays four horses and jockeys crossing the finish line.

Measuring 43mm, the stainless steel case houses a small dial with Arabic numerals, and hour and minute hands. A date window is at six o’clock, and two chronograph counters sit just above it at around four and seven. The golden brown colour of the dial is matched by a brown calf leather strap which has a map of 1821 Paris in the lining. It’s powered by the MB R200 automatic monopusher chronograph movement.
