YETI just discounted 75 products on its website but only a few are worth your attention

The company's seasonal sale is in full swing, but not all that glitters is gold

YETI pretty much has a sale on all the time, but doesn't make it obvious to everyone. After all, if people are happy to buy its gear at full price, let them, right? This approach doesn't fly with savvy shoppers like us, though, who prefer a bit of money off their high-quality YETI gear.

There’s also 20% off the Ranchero 12L and 18L backpacks, while the Hopper M15 soft cooler sees a more substantial saving of $101. Finally, the Rambler 42 oz Straw Mug is discounted by 30% in a ton of colourways.

YETI Ranchero review

Long story short, a lot of deals, but are they any good? The standout offer certainly is on the Ranchero backpacks, which are selling for up to $60 off. The Ranchero range uses the unique tri-zip closure, which YETI started implementing after acquiring Mystery Ranch.

Both the smaller 12L and the medium 18L bags are 20% off, which means you save more on the larger. All five colours are included in the offer, including – obviously – Cherry Blossom, but also the seasonal Black Forest Green, and three core colours.

I tried the 27L Ranchero, and aside from its bulk, I loved everything about it. The 18L version looks like the sweetspot to me in terms of volume and portability for commuting. The 12L version is more Fjallraven Kanken-sized – fun but quite small.

YETI Hopper M15 Tote

$101 off the Hopper M15 tote is nothing to frown upon, either. The Hopper range might not be as popular as the viral sensation, the Camino Carryall, but it's very similar in both looks and versatility.

By the look of it, the only colour left to choose is Wild Vine Red, one of the seasonal options that's clearly on its way out. It's a striking, slightly darker version that has all the usual trimmings of the Hopper: ColdCell insulation, DryHide shell and the daisy chain storage loops at the front.

20% off the Moon Dust and Cherry Blossom colourways is fine, but it feels more like an effort by YETI to shift some stock. Both are seasonal colourways, and I assume the company is trying to get rid of them so they can revive them at some point in the future.

YETI Cherry Blossom Collection

It's worth noting that the Cherry Blossom collection contains a lot more items than Moon Dust. Also, even though they are somewhat similar, Cherry Blossom isn't the same as the new Dessert Bloom colourway.

That's a classic YETI move (i.e. creating scarcity) that totally works. That said, it's also possible that the colours will never come back, especially if they haven't performed well enough initially, which makes a strong case for buying them now.

There is always that thing where a colour goes extinct, YETI doesn't revive it, and it becomes popular because it's an actual scarce colourway. Sadly, it's almost impossible to know when this might happen, so I'm certainly not suggesting buying all the Cherry Blossom stock for this reason.

As for the 42oz straw mug, it's such a staple that it's hard to get excited about, even when it's on offer. Surely, everyone has one by now!? At $31.50, it's pretty affordable, which might explain the tumbler's ubiquity (that's a new word for you for today).
