HTC Media Link box teased

DLNA streaming kit spied at London press event

Desire HD and Desire Z both set to play nice with new media add-on.

HTC’s not just about unleashing Nokia-bashing Android phones, although we won’t deny we’re utterly smitten with the capacious Desire HD and the QWERTY-skilled Desire Z.

Nope, HTC has also unleashed a new Media Link box, which allows you to stream video, photos and audio stashed on the aforementioned new blowers to your TV.

The announcement was somewhat lost amongst the excitement yesterday, but the idea of the Media Link box is simple. It’s meant for TVs without DLNA connectivity, and hooks up to your boobtube via HDMI.

If you’ve got HD Ready movies or homemade clips on your phone, you can sling them straight to your TV using Media Link, making this a must have if your TV isn’t one of the very latest models out there.

HTC says it’ll start flogging the Media Link box in Q4, although it’s not confirmed any price as yet. Stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter pages for news as we get it.
