720p Acer Stream to launch August 9th

Laptop powerhouse Acer has announced it is to launchits Android 2.1 touting smartphone the Acer Stream exclusively through the online retailer Expansys.

With a SIM-free price of £399, the Stream is being described by Acer as a “high-end multimedia smartphone” with this claim being backed up by a feast of visual-friendly features including a 3.7-inch AMOLED display and 720p HD video recording capabilities.

Joining the impressive video capabilities on the Stream’s innards when the handset launches on August 9th will be a 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and 2GB of internal flash storage. Completing Acer’s impressive multimedia package on the Stream will be a 5-megapixel snapper, built-in Wi-Fi and pre-installed social networking apps.

At just 11.2mm thin, the Acer Stream will be no dead weight in user’s pockets and through the Acer Spinlets free streaming service will allow owners of the Google Android powered device to browse and listen to songs from major record labels before posting favourites on the social networking sites of choice.
