Virgin TV V6 owners will soon be able to watch thousands of boxsets and movies from Amazon Prime Video from their set-top box. That means Virgin Media subscribers will be able to tune-in to watch The Grand Tour, The Marvellous Mrs. Maisel, Good Omens and Jack Ryan on the big screen without the need to cough-up for a separate Amazon Fire TV Stick, or Fire TV Stick 4K.
This marks the first time that Prime Video has struck a deal with Virgin Media to be included on its set-top box, which is currently used by some four million in the UK.

Details around how Prime Video will be integrated into the TV V6 box are still scarce. However, it seems likely the on-demand service will be incorporated in a similar way to Netflix, which has been included in Virgin Media's hardware since 2013.
Virgin TV V6 owners can watch Netflix boxsets, movies and exclusives via a designated app built-into the hardware. Better yet, Netflix content appears alongside results from the TV guide, your library of recordings, Virgin Store, and other on-demand and catch-up services whenever you search for a specific movie, show, actor or genre on the TV V6. It's a surprisingly deep integration into the set-top box.
Since Virgin TV V6 supports Ultra HD content, viewers will likely be able to watch their favourite Prime Video originals, boxsets and movies in the format.
Unfortunately, there's no word on exactly when we can expect to see Prime Video roll-out nationwide. Virgin Media says the update is coming "this summer", which could mean it's just a few weeks away – or that you won't be able to binge The Grand Tour on your TV V6 until September.
Either way, Virgin Media has beaten rival Sky Q to the punch with this highly-requested feature. After announcing the integration with Netflix in September last year, the ability to sign-in to an existing Netflix account on Sky Q, or bundle the subscription into your monthly Sky Q bills, didn't launch until November 2018.
As such, it seems unlikely that we'll see the ability to watch the thousands of shows and movies available on Prime Video on Sky Q for a little while yet.
Vice President of Prime Video Europe Jay Marine said, “We have made it even easier for our customers to enjoy Prime Video including Amazon Originals like The Grand Tour, The Marvellous Mrs Maisel and the highly-anticipated Good Omens starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant.
"We are excited that these shows and many others, award-winning movies and our forthcoming exclusive Premier League matches will all be available on Virgin Media’s V6 box for millions of Prime members across the country."
With Prime Video and Netflix integration, Virgin Media TV V6 is fast becoming one of the most complete all-in-one video platforms, which should save viewers from constantly having to flip between HDMI inputs to watch their favourite shows.
