Amazon's Mid-Year Sale 2022 is on its final legs, ending tonight (June 6) at 11:59pm. There are still some excellent deals to shop, so hurry if you don't want to miss out on a great opportunity.
If you do, though, Amazon Prime Day 2022 is not going to be far behind. We don't have an official date for it yet, but we know for sure it's next month (July). Chances are high that a lot of the offers we've seen over the last few days of the Mid-Year Sale will make a repeat appearance, possibly with bigger discounts, but there's really no guarantee of that.
So take a look at Amazon's dedicated Mid-Year Sale page to see if something catches your fancy. If you find it overwhelming, we've selected some great offers from the sale and listed them below in an easy-to-navigate format.
Amazon Mid-Year Sale 2022 deals
Phones & tablets
iPhone 11 (64GB) | AU$849 AU$746 (save AU$103)
The iPhone 11 may be a few generations old now, but you can get this former flagship for just AU$746 on Amazon. It’s using the A13 Bionic chipset, so if you own an older iPhone, you’ll notice the difference in power and camera capabilities. All colour options of the 64GB flavour is discounted, but you can also opt for the 128GB version.
iPhone 12 (64GB) | AU$1,199 AU$997 (save AU$202)
iPhone 13 stocks still aren't what we'd expect but there's nothing wrong with going for an iPhone 12 if you want an upgrade from an older phone. The 64GB iPhone 12 is also now discounted, with all colours available for AU$997. Its colourful OLED display is 6.1-inches, and it comes with 5G capabilities. Battery life isn’t as good as what’s available on the iPhone 13, but you’ll pay a lot less. The 128GB model is also on sale for AU$1,077.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10.5-inch (2021, 128GB, Wi-Fi) | AU$449 AU$334.37 (save AU$114.63)
Not everyone has the budget for a high-end tablet – or needs one – and this is where the Galaxy Tab A8 comes in. It offers a lot of the features of a more expensive Android tablet, but with compromises to the chipset and the screen. Still, four speakers and a decent screen makes this 10.5-inch option a great streaming buddy.
Samsung Galaxy S21 FE 5G (128GB) | AU$999 AU$745 (save AU$254)
It may not be the bright OLED screen of its more expensive flagship brethren, but you're getting similar performance, a great camera array and 5G connectivity to boot for a mid-range price after the 25% discount on Amazon – it's a bargain if you need an Android upgrade.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 5G (256GB) | AU$2,499 AU$2,219.99 (save AU$279.01)
In the grand scheme of things, AU$279 isn't a huge discount. That's just 11% off the RRP and yet we think that if you want a luxurious phone experience, it won't get better than this foldable. So if you've been lusting after one and have the budget for it, grab one while the offer lasts.
Audio
Bose QuietComfort Earbuds | AU$399 AU$299 (save AU$100)
It's one of the best noise-cancelling true wireless 'buds on the market, offering powerful ANC, a good soundscape and some weatherproofing. A firmware update has even added an equaliser to the app. It's a pretty good buy at AU$299 a pop, but this isn't the cheapest price we've seen (which was AU$250 back in February) and there's no guarantee it'll drop further during Prime Day.
Bose QuietComfort 45 | AU$499.95 AU$395 (save AU$104.95)
The latest noise-cancelling headphones to join the Bose ranks are back down to their lowest price yet of AU$395, available for both the Black and White Smoke options. It's missing a few key features as compared to the competition and we couldn't recommend it for its full price, but at 21% off, it's a good buy.
Jabra Elite 4 Active | AU$179 AU$138 (save AU$41)
The Jabra Elite 4 Active are a budget pair of true wireless earbuds that are great for gym-goers and joggers thanks to the IPX4 water-resistance rating - so they won't be damaged by bad weather or sweat. The sound quality is good enough to power your workout beats, and the active noise cancellation keeps distractions at bay. Discounted down to AU$138 in black, navy and green.
Yamaha TW-E3B wireless earbuds | AU$129 AU$99 (save AU$30)
How does one stand out from the overcrowded wireless earbuds space? Yamaha believes it's with 'Listening Care' technology built into its TW-E3B that promises to allow the wearer to hear full-range sound even at low volume settings, meaning they won't feel the need to increase volume and put their hearing at risk. Elsewhere, aptX Bluetooth support, 24-hour battery life and IPX5 water resistance help their case as buds to buy too.
Yamaha YH-E500A wireless headphones | AU$229 AU$160 (save AU$69)
Compact on-ear headphones are rare breeds these days, so if you prefer that design to the more cumbersome over-ear one, these Yamahas have points in the bag already. Add to that active noise cancellation, a 38-hour battery life (with ANC on), Yamaha's ear-protecting Listening Care technology, and of course this generous discount, and you have a pair well worth considering here.
Jabra Elite 3 wireless earbuds | AU$119 AU$78 (save $41)
Light, comfortable, decently specified and with a very acceptable battery life, the Jabra Elite 3 have a lot going for them ergonomically, and the way they sound is most agreeable too. They don't deliver the most expressive dynamics or tightest bass response, but at this discounted price these shortcomings are easy to forgive.
Huawei Freebuds Pro | AU$329 from AU$158 (save up to AU$171)
There are a lot of true wireless 'buds on the market now, but at half price, the Huawei Freebuds Pro make for a compelling alternative to premium offerings. There's noise cancellation on board, and a 3-mic array promises to keep call quality as clear as possible. A single charge gets you up to 7 hours of playback, and there's a total of 30 hours in the case. The white option is currently the cheapest at AU$158, but AU$10 more gets you the black and silver versions for AU$168 each.
