I tried Beko’s futuristic cooking tech at EuroCucina – and it completely changed how I see kitchen appliances
Beko’s Food Tech Lab gave me a glimpse at the future of smart cooking
Beko is one of those brands that seems to be offering it all at the moment, from impressive kitchen appliances right through to its HomeWhiz smart home platform. I saw a lot of this firsthand during a recent trip to EuroCucina 2026, where the brand placed a huge focus not just on individual products, but on how all of its appliances are designed to work together as part of a smarter kitchen setup.
However, one area of the show that stood out from the rest was the Food Tech Lab. Now, if that immediately makes you think of food scientists in lab coats running experiments, that’s pretty much exactly what it was. It involved a live cooking demonstration area led by Beko engineers, introducing appliance testing in a way that was very enjoyable to experience.
During the demonstrations, a few of us got to see how Beko actually measures things like browning, texture and moisture retention before the applianced go into production. We saw how different technologies across the appliance range work together in practice, which gave a much clearer idea of the amount of development that goes into these features before they even make it into people’s kitchens.

One section that especially caught my attention focused on Whirlpool, one of the brands now under Beko alongside Hotpoint and Bauknecht. The team was showcasing several new appliances, including the W Collection Oven, Compact Oven with Microwave and the W Collection HeatControl Induction Hob.
We started with the W Collection Oven and Compact Oven, both of which feature a Self-Supporting Food Probe that tracks the internal temperature of food whilst cooking. Users can simply choose how they want something cooked, and the oven automatically adjusts the cooking cycle before switching itself off once the target temperature is reached.
The ovens also feature Cook4 technology, which allows up to four dishes to be cooked simultaneously without flavours transferring between them. According to Whirlpool, this can save up to 72% time and 53% energy compared to cooking dishes one after another. It’s easy to see the appeal here for larger households or anyone cooking multiple elements at once, particularly for meals like a Sunday roast where timing everything can become slightly chaotic.
One feature within Cook4 that got a lot of attention was the Pizza Party mode, which cooks up to four fresh pizzas at the same time in around 15 minutes, whilst still delivering even browning on every shelf. We actually got to try this ourselves, and aside from the fact I was in Italy surrounded by food engineers, it was probably one of the better slices of pizza I’ve had in a very long time.

That said, the feature that probably stuck with me most was on the W Collection HeatControl Induction Hob. Instead of adjusting traditional power levels, users can set an exact cooking temperature directly, allowing for much more controlled and precise cooking.
To demonstrate this, the engineers showed us a pan of melted chocolate sitting on the hob that looked completely fresh, but had apparently been melting there for five hours at a very low temperature. There was no drying, cracking or burning at all, just perfectly smooth melted chocolate that tasted like it had only just been prepared, especially paired with fresh strawberries.
Overall, the whole experience made it very clear that Beko isn’t just trying to launch more kitchen appliances for the sake of it. The features I've mentioned above all contribute towards making everyday cooking easier and more consistent, and it’s this kind of innovation that seems to be driving the brand right now. After seeing it all in action, it’s easy to understand why Beko and its sub-brands are becoming such a major player in the kitchen space.
