Move aside, Shark ChillPill – Blueair has entered the handheld fan space with its first-ever AlwaysCool handheld fan. As part of Blueair’s new Comfort collection, the Blueair AlwaysCool fan is powerful, compact and surprisingly quiet – although UK shoppers will be sad to hear that it’s currently only available in the US.
Handheld, portable fans have taken over the air treatment market this year, with Dyson, Shark and now Blueair launching their own models. As the current summer heatwave has everyone draped over the nearest fan, having a handheld option is great for instant cooling relief while you’re on-the-go.
Blueair has clearly seen a gap in the market for this, and has launched its very own portable, handheld model, the Blueair AlwaysCool fan. It almost looks like a hair dryer, but it has a lay-flat design that can sit on your desk or be held in your hand. It’s also available in three colours – Night Charcoal, Cloud Linen and Arctic Sage.
The best part of the design is the tilting head which allows you to adjust the fan’s airflow from 0–75°. It has an LCD display which shows its speed settings and battery life, and it has up to 100 speeds to choose from.
Using AeroSilent technology, the Blueair AlwaysCool fan has a strong airflow that can get up to 17mph. Despite its speed and 100 settings, the fan is surprisingly quiet as it powers at a maximum noise level of 46dB. On its lowest setting, it expels 23dB of noise.
What sets the Blueair AlwaysCool fan apart from models like the Shark ChillPill and Dyson HushJet Mini Cool is its battery life. With its 5200mAh battery, the Blueair AlwaysCool fan can be used for up to 32 hours on a single charge! This is triple the amount of time that the Shark ChillPill offers. Of course, this huge battery life will likely be when it’s continuously used at the lowest setting but it’s impressive nonetheless.
The Blueair AlwaysCool fan is available to buy for $59.99 at Blueair and select retailers, like Amazon. At launch, the Blueair AlwaysCool fan is discounted to $50.99 at Blueair and $47.99 at Amazon. At time of writing, UK pricing and availability of the Blueair AlwaysCool fan has yet to be announced.
