Blueair combines an air purifier with a wake up light – and I’m surprised other brands haven’t done this sooner

It’s the perfect bedroom accessory that keeps the room’s air hygienic, allergen free and safer to breathe, while also providing light and an alarm for easier, more natural wake ups – it’s hard to fault.

A key trend I’ve noticed from the past couple of years is appliances doubling up – and sometimes tripling – to offer more functionalities than its primary focus. In the kitchen, there are air fryers that can act as ovens, steamers and microwaves, while the latest video doorbells can also be used as security cameras and door locks.

In keeping with this theme, Blueair announced its Sleep collection in late 2025 which featured two new products that can act as multiple devices. The standout from the range is the Blueair Mini Restful, a 3-in-1 device that acts as an air purifier, alarm clock and wake up light all in one.

As someone who tests purifiers and wake up lights, I was surprised to hear there was a product out there that could do both at the same time – let’s face it, they’re not two products that you’d typically put together! But having spent the past few weeks testing the Blueair Mini Restful, it’s quickly become one of my favourite additions to my bedroom.

Blueair Mini Restful review: price and availability

Launched in late 2025, the Blueair Mini Restful Sunrise Alarm Clock and Air Purifier is available to buy for £129 / $139 at Blueair and select retailers, like Amazon. It comes in a coastal beige colour.

Blueair Mini Restful review: device and app set-up

The Blueair Mini Restful arrived in a simple, cardboard box that contained the main device and a plug with a cord. It also came with multiple adapters for different countries if needed.

The set up was extremely easy. I thread the cord through the bottom of the Blueair Mini Restful and then attach the plug to a main power outlet. Next, I downloaded the free Blueair app and connected the device to the app before I continued setting up the Blueair Mini Restful through there.

Through the app, I set the time and date on the Blueair Mini Restful before customising the wake up and wind down features. I mainly used the wake up setting which I set to come on at its full brightness at 7:30 and set the duration for 30 minutes. I also chose a sound for when the light came to its full intensity and selected for it to only come on during weekdays.

The whole set up and customisation process took a matter of minutes. The app was simple to use and very responsive. In the app, you can lock and unlock the display of the Blueair Mini Restful, turn the night light off and on and choose its brightness, check the air filter’s status and set sunrise clocks and purification schedules.

Blueair Mini Restful review: design and features

As a 3-in-1 device, the Blueair Mini Restful is an air purifier, wake up light and alarm clock. I’d even go a step further and say it actually has four functions as it could easily be used as a lamp, too.

The design of the Blueair Mini Restful is simple yet attractive. It’s extremely lightweight and while it needs to be plugged in, it’s quite portable, easy to move around and fits nicely in all kinds of spaces. It has a beige fabric cover that goes over the main filter of the purifier which is similar to the Blueair Signature Air Purifier.

At the top of the Blueair Mini Restful is a touchscreen display for manual controls. From there, you can turn the display on or off before adjusting the lights and airflow. It’s easier to customise the purifier and lighting via the app, but the touchscreen is nice to have for quick on/off controls. Just below the display is a large ring of light.

As a purifier, the Blueair Mini Restful can clean the air in spaces of up to 31m² in as little as 30 minutes. It has three airflow modes and removes 99.97% of pollutants including dust, making it ideal for allergy sufferers. It’s also been QuietMark certified and it runs at just 18dB so you can have it on through the night without it disturbing you.

As a wake up light, the light that runs around the top lights up and has three brightness levels to choose from via the touchscreen. In the app, the light can be adjusted by a slider so you can customise its brightness levels. The light gradually comes on for the duration of time you’ve selected before it goes on at its full intensity.

Once the light has reached its brightest, the Blueair Mini Restful acts as an alarm clock with its variety of sounds that can be chosen in the app. The volume can also be adjusted, too. At the back of the device is a built-in USB-C charging port so you can charge your other gadgets using the Blueair Mini Restful.

Blueair Mini Restful review: performance

Starting with the air purification, I found the Blueair Mini Restful to have a very powerful airflow, even on the lowest level. My bedroom is in the attic so it can get very dusty and I found the Blueair Mini Restful to come in handy with clearing the air. I have allergies and definitely found myself sneezing a lot less when I had the Blueair Mini Restful in my room.

The three modes of the purifier went up in intensity and there was a noticeable difference between them. The Blueair Mini Restful could be quite loud at the highest level but that’s somewhat to be expected when something increases in intensity. I didn’t find it to be annoying or too loud though, and enjoyed the coolness that the Blueair Mini Restful expelled.

I love testing wake up lights so I enjoyed using the wake up feature the most. The app is great to use and set schedules, and the light itself does get extremely bright. I found this surprising as the Blueair Mini Restful only has a small area of lighting, whereas wake up lights tend to use their whole design as a light, so I was extremely impressed.

I felt that the Blueair Mini Restful could be a bit better with the gradualness of its brightening. At times, I woke up as the light was getting to its ultimate brightness and it almost clicked or flickered to the brightest level rather than the smooth gradual lighting that I’m used to seeing with other wake up lights.

Blueair Mini Restful review: verdict

As a three – maybe even four – in one device, the Blueair Mini Restful doesn’t disappoint in any areas. I honestly couldn’t say if one function is better than the other as they both work incredibly well. The design of the Blueair Mini Restful is also hard to fault as it looks good, takes up minimal space and is light enough to move around.

The airflow of the Blueair Mini Restful is undeniably powerful and made a difference to the feel of the air in the room. I also enjoyed using it as a wake up light, lamp and alarm clock, so really, Blueair has ticked all the boxes with the Mini Restful and lived up to its promises.

Blueair Mini Restful review: alternatives to consider

The Blueair Mini Restful is a first of its kind to combine a purifier with a wake up light so it’s hard to pick a good alternative that fits the bill. If you’re just looking for a purifier, Blueair has a great range of models, like the Blueair Blue Mini Max.

For a wake up light and lamp, Lumie is one of the best brands out there, as well as Beurer and Philips.
