QUICK SUMMARY

Blueair has launched the CoolDrift Air Circulator Fan as part of its Comfort Collection.

Priced at $139.99, the Blueair CoolDrift Air Circulator Fan has smart science-backed sleep modes to help you sleep better while your fan runs at night.

Watch out, Meaco! Blueair has just launched its new CoolDrift Air Circulator Fan, a tabletop fan that looks mysteriously like Meaco’s popular line-up of air circulators. Backed by science, the Blueair CoolDrift Air Circulator Fan has smart sleep modes to help you sleep while using it at night, thanks to its ultra-quiet operation.

Earlier this month, Blueair launched the AlwaysCool fan from its Comfort Collection, the brand’s first-ever handheld fan. With comfort in mind, the AlwaysCool fans have a 32 hour battery life, and can be used on-the-go so you’re cool and comfortable while moving around.

Blueair has taken comfort to the next level with its latest addition to the Comfort Collection – the Blueair CoolDrift Air Circulator Fan. This tabletop fan has a compact size yet powerful airflow, and it can sit comfortably on your bedside table for nighttime use.

I’ve covered fans for a while, and one of the biggest things people tell you not to do is sleep with a fan on at night. The main reason for this is the fan can be extremely noisy and the cold air can leave you feeling achy and sore the next day. However, with the current heatwave, many people have ignored this advice – myself included.

But the Blueair CoolDrift Air Circulator Fan is actually designed for you to use throughout the night. It comes with an Intelligent Night Mode, a science-backed smart programme which uses a built-in temperature sensor to adjust the fan’s airflow throughout an 8-hour cycle.

The 8-hour cycle is broken up into four phases. The first phase which lasts an hour has the Blueair CoolDrift Air Circulator Fan working at a higher speed to cool the room and help your body temperature drop. The second phase which lasts between two - four hours sees the fan lowering its speed so you’re not sleeping in a noisy environment.

The third phase is when the Blueair CoolDrift Air Circulator Fan runs at its lowest speed so you remain comfortable while you sleep. This lasts between five - eight hours. Finally, phase four is where the programme finishes so you can wake up feeling refreshed.

Ideal for sleep, the Blueair CoolDrift Air Circulator Fan runs at 15 decibels at its quietest. Using AeroSilent technology, the fan makes minimal noise while still expelling powerful airflow. The Blueair CoolDrift Air Circulator Fan circulates the air throughout the room and oscillates widely to keep you comfortable.

The Blueair CoolDrift Air Circulator Fan looks the part, too. It has a zero-glow display and while it has manual touch controls on the base, it can also be used via the Blueair app. The app gives you remote access to the fan’s speeds, modes and oscillation.

The Blueair CoolDrift Air Circulator Fan is available to buy for $139.99 at Blueair and Amazon. It comes in Cloud Linen, Night Charcoal and Arctic Sage colours. As of writing, UK pricing and availability has yet to be announced.
