Best Samsung soundbar deals

Best soundbar deals: Samsung HW-Q990B soundbar

The Samsung HW-Q990B is one of the best soundbars on the planet – it rocks an 11.1.4 configuration of real (not virtual) audio channels delivering 600W of power from 22 different speakers.

The perfect size for 55-inch TV sets and above, our HW-Q990B review said it "continues Samsung’s domination of the premium home cinema soundbar market, delivering a combination of power, detail, dynamics and full surround sound cohesion with movie soundtracks that no rival we’ve seen to date can match."

It's made up of a soundbar, subwoofer and two small rear speaker units with two HDMI inputs with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support. You'll also be able to stream music over Apple AirPlay 2 or Bluetooth, and it supports Samsung's Q Symphony feature for adding even more speaker power.

Best Sony soundbar deals

Best soundbar deals: Sony HT-X8500

Sony always uses some of the most technically impressive audio processing in its products, helping them produce sound that seems to come from devices that should be much larger and more expensive – perfect for something like soundbars, where you don't want them to be too tall.

The Sony HT-G700 uses this to create a surprisingly convincing wall of Dolby Atmos sound from its 3.1-channel system, and as a result is one of the best-value Atmos soundbars on the market, and gets a strong recommendation in our Sony HT-G700 review.

Best Sonos soundbar deals

Best soundbar deals: Sonos Beam

The Sonos Beam is our pick for the soundbar that most people with small TVs should probably go for – it's an ideal mix of powerful and clean sound, subtle and chic looks in black or white, and smart features including multi-room music playback and microphones for Amazon Alexa/Google Assistant. You can even turn it into a full wireless surround system later by adding more Sonos speakers to the room, but you can start with just this well-priced soundbar. It's not as cinematic as the Sony HT-G700, but the smart speaker features and excellent music streaming (and playback quality) make it a truly superb choice, and it's more compact.

The Sonos Arc is a bigger soundbar, suited to TVs of 55 inches and above, and is very much a home cinema bar, packing in 11 speakers, including some upfiring drivers for real Dolby Atmos. It's one of the best-sounding ’bars on the market, and is again great for music, and has smart assistants built in, however it has some connectivity limitations that may mean it's not the best option for some people – our Sonos Arc review gives you all the details.

Best Vizio soundbar deals

Vizio makes great-value products that have taken the US by storm, and are now rolling our around the world. The Vizio 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos (SB36512-F6) Soundbar is our pick of the bunch. It gives you a real surround sound experience, thanks to its two rear speakers. Combined with the 36-inch soundbar, it makes for a convincing 3D soundscape, especially when you factor in the two upward-firing drivers on the bar, which give true Dolby Atmos height to movies. And it does all this at a fraction of the price of most equivalent systems.

Best LG soundbar deals

LG's partnership with high-end hi-fi specialist Meridian has produced some remarkable-sounding home cinema speakers. The model to look for in the current range is the affordable LG SN7CY.

The LG SN7CY is an impressively low price considering how well-specced it is – it's the cheapest soundbar on the market to include dedicated upfiring speakers for Dolby Atmos, rather than relying on processing.

Best Bose soundbar deals

Bose is synonymous with audio quality, and its soundbars are great buys. There are three main options, stepping up neatly in price. They all work with Bose's SoundTouch multi-room system, and can be expanded by adding super-small and pleasing rear speakers for more of a surround experience.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 300 is obviously the simplest and most entry-level of the three, but impresses with its audio for its size. The Bose Smart Soundbar 600 gives you bigger and better sound, and has built-in Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can use it as a smart speaker too. The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 adds more advanced driver technology, using many tiny transducers for a huge, spacious sound.

Best Bang & Olufsen soundbar deals

The B&O Beosound Stage is the first soundbar from the Danish audio company, and it's truly phenomenal.

11 drivers deliver a tall, wide sound from a single unit – no external subwoofer, and no rear speakers. This means it doesn't give you a full surround experience, but it's designed to be easy to set up and start using, and still offer utterly fantastic sound quality – it's also the best of all these soundbars for playing music (and has streaming over Chromecast and AirPlay 2). Best Q Acoustics soundbar deals

Q Acoustics is a hi-fi maker known for producing simple speakers that sound far better than they have any right to for the price. And wouldn't you know, it's the same for its soundbars.

The Q Acoustics M3 is an HDMI-equipped soundbar that very easy to get started with, and produces a big clear stereo soundscape. At full price, it's been overtaken a little by the Sony HT-X8500 above as a bang-for-buck buy, but when it's discounted, it can be a total bargain.

The Q Acoustics M4 is very similar, but is available for cheaper, owing to a lack of HDMI port – you'll have to use optical or a 3.5mm jack. It's also chunkier than the M3. If you just want the lowest-priced way to improve your TV audio with a bar, look no further.

Finally, there's the Q Acoustics M2, which is basically a soundbase version of the M3, complete with HDMI port. This just means it's made for your TV to sit on top of it.
